Silver lining.

I have been in USA for over 3 years now and increasingly getting annoyed with the working situation here. I particularly don't have a "working situation" as such, because I am on a mind numbingly dumb visa called the 'H4 Visa". I am getting annoyed because I don't have the Employment authorization to work in the united states. So here, USA-Land of opportunities? Are you kidding me?!?!
I really don't understand the thought process that these so called highly educated people put in, while coming up with these visa do's and dont's.In this time when the world economy is suffering why are there so many restriction on working anywhere and helping to bring up the economy? There must be thousands of people on H4 like me, who are capable of working and contributing to the "world economy" when the "world economy" is suffering.
I have a couple of friends who are on H4 visa and are suffering like me. I know when I say suffering, people will say and have a right to say,''you made the decision to marry someone on a H1 visa, please don't complain now"..But really, do we really have to pay such a heavy price for loving someone and wanting to be with him??
For me H4 stands for -Husband, happiness followed by harassment and humiliation. Do we really have to go throw the last 2 "H" to get the first 2???
I have no opportunity in sight to work or to follow my dreams...but even then I have not lost my hopes... As they say every cloud have a silver lining and for me silver lining is my husband and my happy life with him.But my aim is to look for a Silver Cloud with no lining at all!
